Andy Park
Andy Park is the drummer, timekeeper, and unofficial HR department of the band, primarily because nobody else has the patience to count us in. Armed with two sticks, a questionable sense of rhythm, and the unwavering confidence of a man who has never met a cymbal he couldn’t hit harder, Andy provides the thunderous backbone that keeps the band moving forward—usually in approximately the right direction.
Andy’s drumming philosophy is simple: if one hit is good, three is better. If three is good, 17 is probably a fill. And if the audience looks confused, that’s just evidence that the music is working.
A lifelong student of percussion, Andy has mastered the ancient art of making enormous amounts of noise while simultaneously insisting, “I’ve got it.” He is particularly gifted at producing drum fills that begin with absolute certainty and end somewhere several counties away.
Offstage, Andy is calm, thoughtful, and remarkably well-adjusted for someone who voluntarily spends his evenings surrounded by cymbals. He is also the band’s leading authority on snacks, questionable jokes, and exactly how loud the drums need to be.
Whether laying down a rock-solid groove or launching into a fill that nobody saw coming—including Andy—Andy Park remains the rhythmic heartbeat of the band and the primary reason the rest of us know when to start the song.
